Affiliate Disclosure

How Tracesofcommerce handles affiliate links and sponsored content — full transparency.

Last updated: May 2, 2026

Tracesofcommerce is, in part, supported by affiliate programs. We believe in being completely transparent about how this works, because trust matters more to us than any commission.

What are affiliate links?

An affiliate link is a special URL that tracks when a visitor clicks through and makes a purchase. If you click an affiliate link on Tracesofcommerce and buy something, we earn a small commission from the retailer — at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is exactly the same.

What we recommend

Every product we link to is something we have personally used and would recommend whether or not we earned a commission. We will never:

  • Recommend a product solely because of the commission it pays
  • Hide our affiliate relationship
  • Promote products we don't believe in
  • Let affiliate revenue influence our editorial opinions

How to identify affiliate links

Affiliate links are not visually distinguished from regular links, but you can assume that any product link to a major retailer or brand may be an affiliate link. If you'd rather not use them, you're always welcome to search for the product directly on the retailer's site.

Sponsored content

From time to time we may publish sponsored content — posts that have been paid for by a brand. Sponsored content will always be clearly labeled as such at the top of the post. We only accept sponsorships from brands we genuinely use and believe in.

Your support matters

Affiliate commissions are how we keep Tracesofcommerce free to read, free of paywalls, and (almost) free of intrusive ads. Every purchase made through our links helps us spend more time creating content and less time worrying about hosting bills. Thank you for supporting independent publishing.
